Some memories grow in the most unexpected places.
Radishes have never been a regular part of my diet, but every time I see one, I smile.
When I was eight or nine, my grandmother, Mamaw, would hand me odds and ends from her kitchen so I could “cook” right alongside her. Somehow, radishes always seemed to be part of my little pretend meals. I can still picture myself standing in her kitchen, convinced I was helping.
Funny how one little vegetable can carry you back decades in an instant.
This Tiny Joy isn’t really about a radish. It’s about a grandmother who made a little girl feel included, capable, and loved.
