Dragonfly
16×20 Acrylic on 3/4 “ canvas.
Dragonfly is one of my favorites for two reasons. I love the way the colors and metallic accents pop off the black background. It’s just a unique piece. Second… The dragonfly is a symbol of many things:
Transformation & change — dragonflies go through dramatic metamorphosis (living most of their life underwater as nymphs before emerging to fly), so they're often seen as symbols of personal transformation and adapting to change
Living in the moment — dragonflies have very short adult lifespans, so they're associated with impermanence and making the most of the present
Light & clarity — their iridescent wings catch light in a way that's linked to seeing through illusion, gaining clarity, or finding your way through confusion
Resilience & adaptability — despite their delicate appearance, they're incredibly agile fliers, able to move in any direction — a symbol of adaptability in difficult circumstances
All of those meanings hold significance for me. I hope they do for you as well.
This item does not come with the frame shown. Framing recommendation: 16 × 20 Floating frame. Or a gold frame that can handle a 3/4 “ canvas.
